We’re kicking off spring with some new goods from Rogue Territory. Rogue Territory needs no introduction by now and this season we’ve added to our offerings. Along with the heavily anticipated Brown Chambray Jumper Shirt we’ve also decided to bring in more bottoms such as the RK Canvas Pant in Navy as well as the Ar-G and Officer Trousers. Check out the product in store and online very soon!
Rogue Territory Spring/Summer ‘14.
Seeing Jessica Alba. Eating dinner next to ?uestlove on his birthday. These are some of the things that happen when The Class Room attends Market NYC…not really, but with Market NYC in the books, this has definitely been one of the more memorable ones.
We’ve sort of built a routine when attending the various Trade Shows and Showrooms, and this year was no different from others. The Class Room touched down in NYC on Sunday and while most boutiques and stores stay at least a week or two to see Showrooms, and attend various Tradeshows such as Capsule, Liberty Fairs, Project, and Agenda we managed to our time between family, appointments, AAANNND tradeshows into a four day affair.
Typically the first day we get in is spent catching up with family and friends. Monday we hit the ground running, which means lots of caffeine and lots…I MEAN LOTS OF WALKING. This year Monday was purely dedicated to seeing Showrooms. Some times seeing a vendor’s Showroom is a little bit better because it’s a more intimate setting where you can catch up with vendors who you’ve built strong relationships with, and have become friends with as well as see the collection. We started off the day by seeing our good friends at APC and what they had in store for Fall/Winter 2014. What some people don’t realize is that when we buy clothing for the store we typically buy it a season in advance. Nonetheless, the APC collection is real strong and we look forward to bring Houstonians more than just the jeans, which have quickly become one of the best-sellers in the shop.
We ended the day visiting our good friend Karl of Rogue Territory. Rogue Territory has been a brand we’ve been carrying since we opened the shop, and it’s amazing to see how quickly the brand has grown as well as how many Houstonians have embraced the brand. Rogue Territory didn’t disappoint this Fall/Winter Collection and we can’t wait to let you in on what we have in store for y’all this year.
We ended our day at roughly 5pm with back to back to back to back appointments. By now we’ve lost track of how many “espressos” we’ve had…(YEAH I SAID ESPRESSOS) blisters we’ve gained and calories we’ve consumed The Class Room is just ready to RELAX.
With Monday practically in the books, it was time for us to pop a Lipitor and get ready for dinner with some more family.
Stay tuned for Market Part IV…coming real soon.
Market Season is upon us…
While visiting Southern California for Agenda LBC (Long Beach), TCR was able to check out some of the local shops in and around Los Angeles as well as catch up with some of our vendors who we are blessed to call “family” as their product has contributed to much of the success of TCR.
Follow us on our journey.
Vintage Rogue Territory for Kanye West.
We’ve been fortunate to carry Rogue Territory since inception and as we grow with the brand, we have continued to expand our offerings. For Fall/Winter we’ve brought in some amazing outerwear pieces as well as tops and bottoms. One of the most notable pieces from FW’ 13 is the highly coveted and very limited Campus Jacket. Made out of Heather Grey Wool and Leather Blue Sleeves, this jacket is sure to turn heads this season. We’ve also brought in the very popular supply jackets in both Broken Twill and Stealth Black. The Broken Twill Supply Jacket is 14.5 oz sanforized broken twill from Cone Mills while the Stealth Black Supply Jacket is 15 oz sanforized black Japanese denim from Nihon Menpu. With this delivery comes a nice run of Denim Work Shirts in Indigo and Grey Caste. Last, but certainly not the least is the Black Stealth Stantons. The Black Stealth Stantons are 15 oz sanforized black Japanese denim from Nihon Menpu. All of the Rogue Territory goods are in the shop and now online!
Brace yourself, the next statement is mind boggling. Not ALL fathers love fishing…it’s okay (I guess). I mean how can you not love fishing?!? Before I go off on a tangent, allow me to offer up another gift idea perfect for the father that loves relaxing, going to the beach or going on cruises (cause all fathers love this right?). When I was young and went on family vacations I never understood why other fathers dressed the way the did, I mean their wives actually allowed them to go out in public looking like that? You’d know the look if you saw it. Socks with Teva sandals, cargo shorts, fannie packs, Tommy Bahama shirts, and Maui Jim (Polarized) Sunglasses. I’m shaking my head in disgust as I type this because theses sorts of images are burned into my mind. Look if you know me, I’m all about comfort and although I may not fully understand resort wear life, by no means necessary do you have to sacrifice comfort to look like a hot mess. During the summer months it’s always a good idea to wear lighter colors as well as fabrics that breathe a bit better. This father’s day tell your dad to lose the fannie pack and opt for these RGt Natural Stantons and this Our Legacy Bottle Green Vegetable Longsleeve Shirt that’s perfect for summer. He’ll be singing your praises as he channels his inner Paul Newman in this unit.
You could thank me now for all the info that I give to y’all or thank me later, but later doesn’t always come so instead…Stay Classy y’all.
Let me just say that I have a lot more respect for people who model for a living because being comfortable in front of a camera isn’t easy by any means. Having said that allow me to introduce you to a first installment of series of photos entitled TCR’s Picks where we highlight some of the products we are excited about from season to season and that you may have seen in person, but aren’t exactly sure how to put together.
Season after season, Our Legacy continues to come correct. One of my favorite pieces from the Spring/Summer 2013 Collection is the First Shirt Amazonas. Made in Portugal from an Indian-cotton linen blend, this shirt may arguably be your go to shirt for the summer since it’s lightweight and breathable but more importantly one of the better print shirts I’ve seen in a while. With prints still in heavy rotation this season The Amazon Print will help you make a bold statement.
If you’re going to go with a bold top, I highly suggest that the rest of your outfit is subtle so you don’t take away from the print. I elected to go with Rogue Territory Black Stantons. Before you start harping on me for wearing black in the hotter seasons hear me out. At this time you’re probably still trying to break in your raw denim so you can get the honeycombs you want by Fall…am I right? Well to add some variety to your wardrobe why not opt for some Black Stantons. Made in Los Angeles from Japanese Denim from Kaihara Mills, the Black Stantons are slightly lighter than your typical raw denim at 13oz. and are sanforized which if you don’t already know, you can google it here. The pants are mid-rise which I really like because I typically don’t wear pants below my waist (different strokes for different folks) but in my opinion, mid-rise is a happy median. Since summer is literally around the corner for us I also opted for a subtle shoe in the Nike Free Woven NRG. I’ve been wearing these shoes for a while now and love them. The 3.0 sole is definitely comfortable and the woven upper is very breathable especially since I typically don’t wear socks in the summer. An added bonus to the shoes is it brings some sort of texture to the outfit whereas it doesn’t look like you are wearing a black onesie from the waist down and gives the outfit and eyes some contrast in texture from the pants to the shoes.
Be on the lookout for more of our picks for the season and if you have an questions feel free to email us firstname.lastname@example.org or stop on by at our physical location located across the street from La Madeleine at 2534 Amherst St. Houston, TX 77005.
